Hi guys! I am so excited to be sitting on my sofa writing this blog post, the evening before launching Bumblebee Bakery’s website! This has been a long time coming, but the combination of extended furlough and the encouragement and support of my friends and family has meant that finally I have launched my very own home baking business!
I guess the immediate thing I need to do is to thank a few people; all my tasters, testers, encouragers and sounding boards, but especially Adam Quay Ross for all of his amazing help with this website (IT Support forevermore!) and Dario Del Prete for putting up with a kitchen full of icing sugar and endless conversations about cupcake packaging.
I’m starting off small, with local deliveries of cookies and cupcakes, but I have loads of ideas in the pipeline. The main thing now is to build my customer base, so alongside the website I have Facebook and Instagram pages – the more people who like and follow me, the more people will see my posts and hopefully test out some delicious baked goods, so please get liking and sharing – I’m going to start off with a competition, just to give you all a bit more encouragement!
It has been a super busy month, and I’m hoping it will only get busier. With Father’s Day on my first ‘live’ weekend, I have set myself up for a challenge – what dad doesn’t want a box of cakes or cookies during lockdown?! But I also want to make sure I am doing things properly, so I have registered Bumblebee Bakery with the council, and had my first chat with Environmental Health over the phone. I have also refreshed my Food Hygiene, so you can all rest assured that your sweet treats are being prepared in a clean and safe space.
I’m going to try to keep up with this blog every couple of weeks minimum, so you can all find out what is going on behind the scenes in my little kitchen, and be the first to hear about new recipes and developments. Until then, enjoy exploring the website, browsing the products on offer, and happy munching! 🙂
